| Wednesday, March 6th at 7 pm, the
Sacramento Zoo hosts a special showing of the exciting IMAX movie Journey
into Amazing Caves at the IMAX Esquire Theatre at 1013 K Street.
Journey into Amazing Caves is a visceral, suspenseful and incredibly beautiful
expedition into the Earth's last true frontier - caves. Join two experts
as they investigate caves so remote and unknown that exploring them is
like visiting another planet. Microbiologist Dr. Hazel Barton and cave
rescue specialist Nancy Aulenbach take viewers along as they explore some
of the world's most inaccessible caves seeking "extremorphiles" - tiny
organisms that survive in the Earth's most hostile environments.
Journey into Amazing Caves visits cathedral-like chambers of stalagmites
and stalactites in Arizona; underwater caves in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula
that are filled with crystal-clear water and eerily beautiful ice caves
in Greenland. Journey into Amazing Caves is narrated by internationally
acclaimed actor Liam Neeson and features new songs and performances by
the classic rock band The Moody Blues.
Tickets are $9.50 for adults; $8.50 for seniors 65 and older; and $7.50
for children three to 12; two and under are free if sitting on a lap.
Tickets may be purchased by calling the zoo at 916-264-5888. All
proceeds from this special preview benefit the Sacramento Zoo.
