Brooklyn, NY – Learning about the amazing undersea world is fun at the New York Aquarium in Coney Island. Exciting, participatory “get wet” workshops have been specially designed for families with children of all ages to explore the magic and mystery of the marine world. Diversified programming will capture your interest – from art and music to science, beach walks, lectures and excursions. Reservations are required for all classes. Children and Teens
Pre-K Planet Ocean!
Investigate the animals of the ocean planet with your child in one or more of these fun-filled programs. In Penguin Parade, you will role-play being a penguin parent and examine feathers and eggs. Sharks and Fish will have you comparing shark skin with fish scales, and toothy jaws of all kinds. Or learn about marine mammals in Walruses, Seals and Sea Lions, Oh My!

Shark-A-Rama
Get a behind-the-scenes look at our sharks, discover the amazing adaptations of these living fossils, and make toothy crafts to take home in this parent-child workshop.

CSI: Marine Unit
Join the CSI team (Coastal Science Investigation) and solve the murder mystery in the ocean—who did it, and was it with poison, teeth, tongues, or other weapons?
Ages: 9-12

Hey! Where is Everybody?
Enjoy supper and then tour the Aquarium when everyone else has gone home! Watch seals settling down for the night, feed a tank, and make marine-themed crafts and memories to take with you at the end of this exciting evening.
Ages: Adults with children ages 6-11

Fee per person: $35 members; $42 non-members
Behind the Scenes Tour
Now the whole family can go behind the scenes to find out how things work at the aquarium. Peer into tanks and feed coral reef fish as you share this special experience.
Ages: Adults with children ages 6 and up
Session A: Saturday, January 10, 10:00-11:30
Fee per person: $16 members; $24 non-members

Cancellations: All cancellations will have a $5 fee. Cancellation or rescheduling without three weeks notice will incur a 30% handling fee. No refunds for same day cancellations.

A Wildlife Conservation Society park, the New York Aquarium, opens every day of the year at 10am, and closing times vary seasonally. Admission is $13.00 for adults, and $9.00 for children ages 3-12 and $10.00 for senior citizens (65 and older); children under 3 years of age are admitted free. Every Friday from 3pm to closing, visitors are admitted free. The Aquarium is located on Surf Avenue at West 8th Street in Coney Island.
