SAZOO Celebrates 57 Years


INDIANAPOLIS — With the hoped-for arrival of spring, the Indianapolis Zoo will switch from its winter operating hours and admission prices to its normal in-season hours and ticket prices. Here are the details:

  • Beginning March 1 and running through March 12 only, the Indianapolis Zoo will be open 9am to 4pm daily.
  • Beginning on March 13 and running through May 21, the Zoo will be open 9am to 4pm Mondays through Thursdays, and 9am to 5pm Fridays through Sundays. Summer hours of 9am to 5pm Monday-Thursday and 9am to 6pm Friday-Sunday & Holidays will begin on May 22 and run through Labor Day.
  • Beginning March 13, admission to the Indianapolis Zoo will be $14 for adults and $9 for Seniors 62 and over and youth ages 2-12. Children one and under are free. Admission is just $7 per person on Community Tuesdays presented by IPL, which are the first Tuesdays of the months from March through October.
  • Please Note: The Zoo will open slightly late on Saturday, April 18, in order to clear the runners from the Race for the Cure, and on Saturday, May 2, for the running of the 500 Festival Mini-Marathon.
