"Coexistence, Collaboration and Culture: The Story of the Maasai of the South Rift Valley"
On Wednesday, January 21, a Special Presentation, presented by the Cincinnati Zoo and Miami University, will take place at the Zoo's Frisch's Theater inside the Harold C. Schott Education Center. This Special Presentation will discuss "Co-Existence, Collaboration and Culture - The Story of Maasai of the South Rift Valley."
In the South Rift Valley of Kenya, the Maasai people live among elephants, lions and other wildlife. Samantha Russell and John Kamanga Ole Ntetiyian in association with the African Conservation Centre, an effort initiated by Dr. David Western, a past recipient of the Barrows Conservation Award, will share the story of how Maasai communities are taking a novel and coordinated approach to adapt to ever-changing pressures while safe-guarding their social and environmental heritage.
