Melbourne, FL—Brevard Zoo invites nature enthusiasts to try one of several outdoor adventure tours provided by the zoo in 2009. Nature enthusiasts can choose nature hikes, kayaking tours, or a combination of both. The tours are open to the public on specific days and available to groups if scheduled in advance. Call 321.254.9453 x 219 or email edregistrar@brevardzoo.org to make a reservation. Space is limited on each tour and age restrictions may apply. Reservations required on public tours.
Paddle around the local waterways and enjoy up-close encounters with a variety of wildlife including pelican, osprey, eagle, roseate spoonbill,l and reddish egret. A trained naturalist from the Zoo will guide you through pristine areas. Guests may also encounter manatee, dolphin, sea turtles, horseshoe crabs, and more, depending on the tours! Places explored depend on the tour but include Samson’s Island near Satellite Beach, Pine Island at the Pine Island Conservation Area on Merritt Island, and Haulover Canal at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge in Titusville.

Upcoming dates include: January 24; February 14 and 28; March 14 and 28; April 11 and 25; and May 9 and 23. Cost is $50 for non-members, $45 for zoo members, and $40 if bringing a personal kayak. The price includes lunch, snack, and water.
Two-hour kayaking tour at Pine Island Conservation
Upcoming dates include: February 7, March 7, April 4, May 2, and June 6. Cost is $30 for non-members and $25 for zoo members. The price includes a snack and water.
Nature hike with a kayak tour at Samson’s Island
Upcoming dates include: January 17 and 31; February 21; March 21; April 18; May 16 and 30; and June 20. Cost is $50 for non-members and $45 for zoo members. The price includes lunch, snack, and water.
